TIME SCALE FOR PLACING ORDERS

We prefer 6 months notice to guarantee your wedding cake order. Any wedding cakes required sooner please email or phone to confirm availability. Orders that contain fruit cake must be ordered and the £100 deposit paid a minimum of 4 month before the required date. This is because fruit cake takes 3 – 4 months to make and properly mature.

All celebration cakes are preferably ordered with 2 – 3 weeks in advance. Orders under £100 are asked to be paid in full when booked and for order over we ask for a £100 deposit and full payment 7 days prior to the required date. Last minute orders within 7 days prior to your event will incur a late fee.

Cupcake orders can be placed up to 3 days prior to your event.

WHAT IS OUR PAYMENT POLICY?

Wedding Cake: A non-refundable £100 deposit is required to reserve your wedding cake order and the remainder of the balance due a minimum of 1 month prior to your wedding. If the Wedding cake is canceled with less than 1 month notice the remaining balance must still be paid in full.

All other cake orders under £100 must be paid in full at time of order.

Celebration Cakes: We ask for a 50% deposit and the remaining balance to be paid on collection.

DO WE DELIVER?

Delivery is available throughout the UK. To guarantee the quality of our products we do not use a courier service for orders within the UK, we personally deliver our cakes ourselves.

Local Edinburgh delivery is charged at £7 and delivery fees outside Edinburgh are calculated by distance travelled and are roughly 52p per mile.

While it is generally not a problem for clients to transport smaller cakes, self-transporting any cake is at your own risk. Licks Cake Design does not recommend clients self-transport 3D/sculptural cakes, cakes over 2 tiers tall or any cake for more than 1 hour. We do not responsible for any damage that may occur to any client-transported cake once it has left our store.

GENERAL CAKE INFORMATION

We offer a wide range of delicious flavours. This can be found in the cake gallery. All types of sponges contain a layer of fresh buttercream.

To ensure our cakes also remain moist we also add a thin layer of white almond marzipan designed for sponges. (For any customer preferring no marzipan we can offer double icing instead to ensure your cake remains moist and at a high quality).

ALLERGIES

We can accommodate most allergies. We have GLUTEN and WHEAT FREE cakes for COELIAC,
EGG FREE and VEGAN cakes. Please ask for details at time of order.

Licks Cake Design will make every effort to ensure all aspects of the required design are followed exactly. However Licks Cakes Design hold the artistic licence to adjust any design if felt necessary to improve or help the stability of the cake.
